We hope you are all enjoying Boston during the holiday season and taking part in everything that the community offers. Whether it’s skating on the frog pond in the Commons, seeing a holiday show in the Theatre District or shopping in Downtown Crossing, you can certainly get into the holiday spirit in Boston.
As you enjoy what is given to you by the city, take part in ways to give back to the community as well. Boston.com has a great article called "Volunteer for the holidays" that provides multiple volunteer opportunities this holiday season.
We’d also like to highlight ‘The Home for Little Wanderers’ Big Wishes for Little Wanderers Gift Drive. It’s one of the oldest gift drives in the Commonwealth and a great way to participate in a wonderful cause. You can drop off donations until December 22, 2009 at The Home’s Toy Room at the Knight Children’s Center, 161 South Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain.
The Home is the oldest child and family services agency in the nation and one of the largest in New England. For more information on items to donate, how to "adopt a family" this holiday season, how to make a donation online, or how to find the drop-off location nearest to you, visit www.thehome.org/bigwishes.
